The Road Now Taken: How Life Coaching and Communication Coaching Work Together

How Life Coaching and Communication Coaching Work Together

Recently, I recently took a step back and reassessed my business model and goals.

The result didn’t surprise me, but what did take me aback was the realization that I should have considered taking this new path a long time ago.

Throughout my 30-plus years as a writer and communication coach, clients would often ask me questions of a personal nature, hoping to benefit from my guidance. In order to be able to offer them the best possible advice, I applied to the Life Coach Accreditation Program at the Centre for Applied Neuroscience in Toronto and am on track to become an accredited life coach by June of this year.

I’ve been interested in human interactions since I was young. I have always loved helping friends, pure and simple. Becoming a life coach seemed like the perfect extension of that passion.

How Life Coaching Can Help

So, what does life coaching have to do with communication coaching and being a professional writer? When you seek to communicate convincingly, either in writing or in speech, you benefit from knowing yourself intimately and understanding why you are on a certain path.

Once you have a true sense of yourself, your personal goals take shape and dreams begin to form. To realize your goals and dreams, you need to be able to express yourself to those who will help you reach these goals and realize these dreams, including family, friends, work colleagues, clients and customers.

Gaining Self-Awareness

We don’t all have a good sense of our own strengths, our goals and who we are.

It may be that we haven’t gained the self-awareness and confidence to feel heard, whether in speaking to an audience or in writing, be it a sales presentation, an article, a speech or web content.

Never fear! With some guidance, you can build this type of awareness and realize your potential.

Take some time to reflect on how your own self-awareness and effectiveness at communicating are closely linked. If you’d like to discuss it, I’m happy to offer a complimentary, no-obligation 30-minute consultation.
